Guide to YouTube Video Views

Video views on YouTube are the measurement of how many times a video has been watched and can be a quick and easy way to measure the popularity of a video.
YouTube themselves take great care to ensure that views are generated by humans and not computers so that your statistics and views aren’t adversely affected. There are 3 main ways types of view that are ignored:
• Reloaded views – This is when a page is refreshed to instigate an additional view
• Viruses – If a computer looks like software designed to watch YouTube videos
• Autoplay – Having a website auto-playing your video will not count as a view
As views can be a very obvious way to measure the success of your video and channel overall, it isn’t the only metric that you need to focus on, however, a good rule of thumb is that if your YouTube channel has 100,000 subscribers, then you should expect between 12-15,000 views per video. That's an average ratio of views: subscribers = 14%.
If you are starting out on your YouTube journey, then 100,000 subscribers will not be a workable number for you, so try and aim for the 14% ratio of subscribers to views.
Tips for increasing your view numbers are:
• Make good, engaging content
• Write a good video description
• Ensure your thumbnail is eye-catching and relevant
• Use “Call to Actions”
